super bowl party {tailgate party}

We don’t know about you guys, but we love the superbowl each year. And we really adore tailgating in general. So we thought it would be fun to create something awesome for both. At least we think so with our totally biased selves. With the upcoming Super Bowl, it just felt appropriate to put together a little party in your pocket, with free printables and ideas to boot. So without further ado, a super bowl party {tailgate party}!

I staged this while the kids were at school so I could go ahead and release this well before the actual Superbowl. So when they got home from school, they were a little confused, to say the least. It’s a tradition at our house to break out the fun foods for such an event, so they were game for some after-school treats!

I pulled together our little coffee table, complete with treats on the mantel. No worries though, because that chalkboard {complete with an old school football play} will move to make way for the TV behind it, for the actual game.

And survey says: They loved it.

So here are the fun little printables we created, to make this fun little partay official.

If I’m being totally honest, I’m really just here for the commercials.

Here are three staple {super simple} foods that are a big hit with our teens! And probably just about anyone.

First up: Barbecue Sliders!

We topped them off with our little baby flags, just print +attach to any toothpick for a “fancy” topper.

What you’ll need:

• Hawaiian Rolls
• Grilled Chicken
• Barbecue Sauce
• Cheese of choice – we love Havarti {optional}

Once you’ve grilled your chicken {Or if you’re really in a rush, grab some rotisserie at the store} shred + mix with barbecue sauce of choice. Lightly toast your buns in the oven with a little cheese on top to make these fantastic! Serve them up. Tada! You’re a wizard. Or at least Tom Brady.

Homemade Guacamole

What you’ll need:

• Avocados – I do one avocado per person I’ll be serving
• Tomato {1/3 to 1/2}
• Yellow Pepper {1/3 to 1/2}
• Onion {1/3 to 1/2}
• 1 lime
• sea salt
• feta cheese

We actually were in a rush to beat the sunlight {because winter} and totally forgot to add the tomatoes for this photo shoot. But it is SO good. Just pretend they’re there. This one is a labor of love, but well worth it.

Dice half of the tomato, yellow pepper and onion. Mix together and set aside. Use a food processor or a mortar and pestle to mash up your avocados. When those are done, stir up and add all the other ingredients. Juice one slice to half a lime and stir in. {To taste – I add a little sea salt gradually until it has just the right combo.} Then add some feta – at least half the small container, because feta. Winning.

Serve up with lime chips because lime chips. The end.

Last but certainly not least: Football Brownies!

I’m lazy, so this was just a mix, with cream cheese frosting on top. But I assure you, the kids loved it. Such a cute little themey addition… and almost everyone loves brownies. Especially fancy redneck ones.

A few other things we used:

• This bunting for lots of color
• These plates
• “astro turf” for placemats
• Striped straws
• The cutest little jar mugs we ever did see {they’re small}
• White tape on top in a football shape to serve up that lemonade
